Personal Description: I am an independent mathematics consultant principally in the areas of mathematical modelling and signal processing. Registered as a Trusted Expert researching into ionospheric earthquake precursor theories.
Mathematics is not just my job it is my hobby and as such I want to pass that enthusiasm to the next generation.
I have been tutoring students for a considerable number of years with notable success.
Tutoring Experience: Throughout my career I have supported and encouraged youngsters from 14 years of age in their preparation for examinations in mathematics and physics. This has included private tuition at all levels from GCSE, A/AS, to degree level and post graduate. I have also coached graduates preparing for the GMAT examination for entry into business school for the MBA qualification.
Tutoring Approach: My usual method is to work one to one with a student, although sometimes I work with small groups of three or four. I use a variety of methods establishing which is best suited to the student. For example, it may be appropriate to work through typical examination questions. Alternatively, it may be appropriate to work on areas of weakness. Understanding is a key to the examination process.
For the comfort and assurance of the student, and the parent, my wife (an ex teacher), is always at home and parents are welcome to sit in on any tutoring session.
