I am an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English teacher who loves to work with students to help them achieve their potential. I| love my subject and enjoy helping others learn. One of my tutee's parents recently said that I had helped their child love English too, after years of finding it boring and uninteresting. I was so pleased because I believe English is the key to so many pathways in life, as well as enjoyable for its own sake.

Tutoring Experience

26 years experience of teaching A Level English and GCSE (all boards) English Language and English Literature.
I now therefore offer GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature and A Level English Language.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is to first establish what the tutee needs and where they are in their learning. I like to help students become independent whilst at the same time ensuring that they have the scaffolding and support needed to achieve. I like to make sessions fun and interesting, but still meaningful and relevant. I understand that for tutees and their parents or carers that this is a commitment to learning which I take very seriously. My approach is always professional, but friendly.
